How long have you been with CX? One year.
What is your typical day like? My day is usually spread between a variety of areas in CX. I work closely with our user experience designer and different members of the development team to help design new features and make sure we’re on the right track with the user interface and design. I also work closely with the marketing team, maintaining cx.com and our blog, and designing landing pages, ads and other communication assets. I also usually play a round of ping pong some time during the day, too, which helps get the blood flowing.
Why does working in the cloud sharing field interest you? I’m excited to be a part of the next evolution of the web. It’s still a young industry, and there are a lot of opportunities waiting to be discovered.
What do you use CX for? I’ve got about half of my files synced up between my laptop and desktop computer, and it’s nice to know that wherever I go, I can still access all my latest files. Most recently, I downloaded a webinar series to my desktop computer. It’s cool because I can sit in bed and watch all the videos from my iPad when I get home.
What’s your favorite part about CX? I love being at the forefront of technology and working with some really smart people. There’s a lot of satisfaction in learning and discovering new things. We’re constantly moving forward in making a great product, and it’s been fun to be a part of that process.
What’s your favorite food? Hm, that’s a tough one. I usually choose to eat at a restaurant based on the quality of beer they serve (which doesn’t always jive with my wife’s choices!) We eat at a lot of brew pubs, which typically serve good food, so it works out.
I also love the grinders from Eegee’s, a sub place in Tucson.
What’s your favorite band or musician? I like a lot of things in the indie and folk realms. Lately, I’ve been enjoying bands such as Band of Horses, Blind Pilot and Blitzen Trapper. I also really enjoy some older stuff, like Simon and Garfunkel, Jim Croce and Cat Stevens.
What’s your favorite movie? Harvey.
What are three of your favorite websites to visit, and why do you visit each one? Twitter, because I subscribe to a lot of leaders in web design, and it’s a great place to get inspiration and keep up with some of the latest trends. Fastcompany.com – super-inspirational, good variety of creative articles and keeps me updated with tech news. Smashingmagazine.com — the best place for front-end development innovation and ideas.
What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you? I worked at a daycare center during college. It was pretty random, but having 100 kids call you “Mr. Todd” was pretty cool.
