Plan Your Family Reunion with CX Cloud Storage

The author, Dan Smoker, with his family

How many of you out there have large families? I would have to raise my hand for this. While my immediate family isn’t huge, my parents had 20 siblings combined, meaning I had a plethora of cousins to play with when I was younger. Large families are great. Connected large families are even better, but that is difficult when the family is spread over 10 states and two countries.

How we overcome that is with a triennial reunion. This year was my mom’s side of the family’s reunion. The family (12 siblings!) splits the duties every 3 years among four geographical regions. We were “in charge” this year. As you can imagine, with more than 100 people attending, it is quite the undertaking! We are fortunate that e-mail is now on our side, but even e-mailing all of these details makes for a full inbox! This is where CX.com came in. I made a group for the reunion about 6 months ago, and it became where people would go for any and all reunion details. One “invite” email was sent, and it was that easy — all of the siblings, their children and grandchildren could easily register and choose to be notified via e-mail whenever anything was added. cloud storage usersWe’re always intrigued by the diverse ways our CX online storage users use CX both personally and professionally. Just like we have many different types of users from all around the world, the CX cloud storage application has been adopted in a variety of circumstances, from storing contacts to collaborating with co-workers miles away. Check out just a few CX case studies from some of our savvy users below.

From CX user Richard McAroy: I use Groups to archive veterinary documents to include drug dosage tables, medical treatment protocols and client handouts. The veterinary Group members all contribute to our database on CX, and the chat function comes in handy for doctors to send questions to other Group members. (more…)

How long have you been with CX? 16 months.

What is your typical day like? I spend a lot of the day with a phone glued to my ear (need an implant) talking to customers, partners, other industry members and the CX team about the cloud, cloud-related technologies, our products and the direction we’re taking at CX. My role also dictates that I spend a lot of time in aircraft flying around to meet with these interested parties and between our development offices (we’re a very virtual/distributed team). Although I do a fair bit of technical advising internally, I don’t get to code much these days, but am very happy that we’ve been able to hire an awesome team to build our product. (more…)
