We are in the era of the viral video. YouTube views are currency. Attention spans are shorter than ever (sorry, reading.) Are you engaged in video marketing? Some are, but most are not.
Why aren’t you? From my experience, it’s lack of ability. While anyone can create a Facebook page or snap pictures with their phones, creating videos just has a higher barrier of entry. Even with all the video features our smartphones have today, it’s still really hard to make a really good video. While this video is great, a lot went into making it great. A script had to be written, the right cameras had to be used, someone had to direct it, and someone had to painstakingly edit it. The bottom line is, it probably took a lot of hours to make this 1:34 video. And this is the issue for most companies: Do they really want to invest hours into such a minimal (time-wise) output?
Well, if your video can get 9 million views, the answer is a very easy yes — but that’s not realistic for most people. Still, there are a few ways you can make unique videos for your business without having to go full Spielberg. Keep reading to find out how. (more…)
